The Jacob Holt House
Restoration Project

Jacob Holt was the chief architect and builder in Warrenton, NC, during the town's boom era (1845-1861). He worked primarily with "Greek revival and Italianate" styles, as reflected in many of the old homes still located in Warrenton. His "home" is located on Bragg Street (one block east of Main St / US 401).

Jacob House

  • Restoration of the Jacob Holt House is almost complete.

The Rotary Club of Warrenton was instrumental in saving this house from destruction, and assisting in its restoration. The "house" will be used as a Community Meeting Room, and a small museum dedicated to the "period" Jacob Holt built this house.

The Jacob Holt House is a 10-room structure, representing a quite large home for this period in the 19th century. As you will see (on your walking tour through the house), the house is a "work in progress", and all the rooms are currently in various stages of restoration
